In The Waiting
In Acts 1:12-26, the obedience of the Apostles and disciples reflects their deep trust in Jesus and His promises.
In their waiting, God was shaping them for what lay ahead. The early church would need unwavering endurance, and God’s design for this was clear: a steadfast focus on prayer and unity, empowered by the Holy Spirit. This foundation would sustain them through trials, persecution, and hardship—challenges that ran alongside the joy, peace, love, hope, and confidence found in Christ’s return and His role as the only way to flourish. Our need drives us to prayer, and prayer is communion with God. Often, God allows us to receive what we truly need most—Himself. The church grew not through worldly power but through ordinary people living extraordinary lives—lives marked by love, sacrifice, and unshakable faith. It was discipleship, not dominance, that transformed the world.
