The Aroma of Being with Jesus

Apr 6, 2025    Tyler LaFoy

In this passage, the religious leaders are stunned—not because Peter and John are eloquent or highly educated, but because their courage is undeniable, and the only explanation is this: they had been with Jesus. That’s what made them different. These weren’t polished or powerful men—they were ordinary, but transformed by time spent with the Savior. Even under pressure and threat, they couldn’t help but speak about what they had seen and heard. And when they returned to their community, they didn’t pray for protection—they prayed for boldness. Why? Because being with Jesus doesn’t just change how we speak; it changes what we live for. Their prayer was answered with power—the place shook, the Spirit filled them, and they kept speaking the Word with courage. This passage invites us to ask: could someone say we’ve been with Jesus? And if so, how might that boldness show up in our lives?
