Rising or Falling on Jesus

In Luke 20:1–18, we find Jesus facing religious leaders who challenge His authority. He responds with a question about John’s baptism that exposes their fear of man over fear of God. Jesus goes on to tell the parable of the wicked tenants, showing that God sent prophet after prophet, and finally His beloved Son, to call His people back, but they rejected and killed them. Jesus shows us that the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the One they cast aside was the very One on whom salvation was founded. There is no middle of the road when it comes to Jesus and His authority. He is either Lord over all in our lives or not Lord at all.
