Grace Table

Respond. Remember. Run to the Lord.

Nehemiah 9 is basically the people finally doing what their conviction in chapter 8 was meant to lead to do—they respond with real repentance, not just emotion. They own their sin without excuses, ground themselves in God’s Word, and then lift their eyes off themselves to remember who God has always been. As they walk through their history, the pattern is painfully clear: God is relentlessly faithful, gracious, and merciful… and they are relentlessly ungrateful and rebellious. However, the point isn’t just to sit in guilt; it’s to see that where their sin abounds, God’s grace abounds even more. So in light of all that, they recommit themselves to Him, knowing they’ve failed before and will again, but trusting that His mercy is greater than their inconsistency. It’s a call for us too: respond in repentance, remember His grace, and run back to Him.
